What does That Pearl Girl do?

That Pearl Girl runs pearl jewellery-making workshops where you’ll have the opportunity to create your own unique pieces of jewellery using a curated selection of high-quality beads, freshwater pearls, and findings. Our Pearl Girls will guide you through the design process, and we'll finish your creations with professional craftsmanship—so you can leave with a beautiful, self-designed piece of jewellery that’s ready to wear!

We’re passionate about partnering with local businesses to bring our workshops into the community, but we also offer private parties for those looking to host an event such as a bridal shower, baby sprinkle or birthday.

Where are you located?

We have a small, vibrant community of Pearl Girls, and we host events throughout the Mackay and Whitsundays region, as well as in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We love to travel and bring our workshops to new communities, so you might also see our events pop up in other locations from time to time!

What is your refund policy?

Please review our refund policy below for details regarding cancellations and refunds.

If you need to cancel your participation in a workshop, the following guidelines apply:

• More than 7 days before the workshop start date: You are eligible for a full refund of your workshop ticket.

• Between 3-7 days before the workshop start date: You are eligible for an 80% refund of the workshop fee or a credit to attend another workshop.

• Less than 2 days before the workshop start date: Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund but will happily offer a credit in the form of a code that can be used on our website.

  No Shows
  If you fail to attend the workshop without prior notice of cancellation, no refund or credit will be issued.

In the unlikely event that we must cancel or reschedule a workshop, we will notify you as soon as possible. You will have the following options:

• Transfer your registration to another available workshop or date.

• Full Refund of your workshop fee.

Do you use real freshwater pearls?

Absolutely! We have a trustworthy provider of freshwater pearls but here is some information so you can tell for yourself!

Real freshwater pearls will feel gritty, cool to the touch, and have natural imperfections with a unique, deep luster.

Fake pearls tend to be smooth, light, uniform in shape, and have an artificial, glossy shine.
